My 2 Dives on MP275A and MP289C near the East Lump Salt Dome on the edge of the Continental Shelf. My Speargun "Black Betty" gave me an uncharacteristic hard time as a large Amberjack pulled off, then a large Red Snapper, then a large African Pompano before finally landing a small African Pompano. Then on the second dive an Amberjack swam off with my shaft. At the end of the second dive, Derik tells me to look behind the boat where I see a very large loggerhead sea turtle. So I go back down and it turns into a playful encounter but non of it was captured on video due to GoPro implementing a time delay on button pushing to turn it back on. The turtle actually charged me and I wasn't sure of the intentions. She didn't open her mouth but rammed into me and kept swimming back on top of me. Then she swam to the Rig as if she wanted me to follow but I couldn't keep up and headed back to the boat when a large Shark approached me. I was intently watching him when the turtle all of a sudden swam out from underneath me within inches of my chest and charge the Shark away from me. It was incredible. Anyway, this is the footage I did get. Visibility was spectacular.
