Yup that’s right PADI is supposedly up for sale again and Aqua Lung are looking to snap it up. The source that leaked this information is ‘generally well-informed’ so maybe take this news with a pinch of salt. PADI was only brought out last year by an American consortium called Mandarin holdings for 700 million dollars; It’s now up for sale for 1.2 billion dollars.

But why the sale? Well it seems that the consortium didn’t really know what they were buying into, and with professional memberships fees increasing and there attempt to prevent some diver centres operating through multiple agencies in 2013 and 2014 a lot of people had lost trust in PADI, so in a nutshell the consortium didn’t have that much of a bottom line.
