Scuba Diving in West Palm Beach (Florida) with GoPro

While in Florida to see family and do some work, I was able to dive off of West Palm Beach. I filmed underwater for the first time and with a GoPro for the first time (without a LCD screen attachment). Definitely get the GoPro screen attachment and carry some extra batteries if you plan to use it while diving. I'm impressed with the quality considering that I didn't use any special lighting or additional equipment -- just the GoPro. There wasn't that much activity that day, but the drift diving made a for fun ride and there are some turtles, a giant grouper, and other reef life.

The dive outfit we used is Skinnydiver Charters. Single-boat. Husband and wife duo. Very hospitable and informative. I'll definitely go diving with them again when in the area.

West Palm Beach makes for some nice drift diving owing to the Gulf Stream's flow there. Read more about diving WPB here:

WPB has an impressive population of sea turtles -- particularly threatened and endangered sea turtles. As you could imagine, these turtles often fall victim to accidents and harm owing to us. The Loggerhead at the end of this video, for example, has obvious scars on its shell from a propeller. But there are turtles much worst off. If you visit WPB, be sure to also stop at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center. The center educates the public about coastal conservation and about the turtle population. Moreover, the center rehabs countless injured turtles. Learn more about the center here:
