This is a spring-fed lake with significant flow. Standing tree trunks are the remains of a 3000-year-old forest preserved by the cold, fresh water.
Temps were 41° F (5° C) according to my computer's memory, or 38° F (3° C) according to what I saw it say at depth. :)
Max depth this day for me was 76' (23 m), but the lake goes all the way down to 175' (53 m) for those well-trained. 7 mm wetsuit, 14 mm on the torso, 7 mm hood. Most people dove dry.
But I made it through two dives, 50 minutes each. Guess all that time in Monterey left be well-prepared. :)
Black fins and rebreather is Gilly. Blue fins is me.
Big thanks to the Eugene Dive Club for bringing up hot soup. And for bringing hot water to pour into the wetsuit. :)
