- an autographed "WaterLung Hydro-Twin" by Sam Lecocq, founder of Sportsways and Aqua Lung
- a "Northhill Air Lung" in cast bronze, built in "J" valve & venturi assist
- a "Viking" beer can regulator with low pressure outlet
- a Dacor "Clipper" with "Dial-A-Breath" venturi assist
- a "Aqua-Lung" "Aqua-Master" 2 stage regulator by U.S. Divers
- Rene Bussoz brought French made regulators to California in the US west coast and founded U.S. Divers and Aqua Lung
- Popular Science in July 1953 showed how to make your own diving lung
- parts needed: surplus WW2 oxygen diluter valve, 2 aircraft compressed air tanks, brass plumbing fittings, gas mask hoses and webbing
- Bad: hard to breath, brittle hoses, not reliable, no purge button, very hard to clear
- first popular training book "The New Science of Skin and Scuba Diving"
- Alec's scuba course in the 1960's was 26 weeks long
